Enemies of Boredom

By Dr Mandy Maddock, University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education.

The report celebrates the wonderful documentation of learning from the exhibition and programme of events. It draws together evidence of what is possible when opportunities for learning are multiplied and when adult educatiors are responsive to the needs of learners, to their inherent powers as learners, and to their capacity to engage and experiment with their worlds.

Published in 2005, this document continues to influence and inspire us and was taken as the starting point for reflective conversations hosted by artist writers Gabby Arenge and Emily Dowdeswell which then led to A Call for Spaces of Liberated Learning.
